Animal Crossing: New Horizons will likely be running another Turkey Day event this year for Thanksgiving to truly give the players a day to remember along with their real-life celebrations. Last year the event took place on November 26th from 9 Am until midnight. This year it is rumoured by data miners that there will be a different date and time slot for the event with players being able to partake in the event on Thanksgiving only. The Animal Crossing Turkey Day brings new recipes to cook, DIY Recipes, and items and rewards to collect. This guide article will take you over everything you need to know about the upcoming event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

How to Begin the Animal Crossing Turkey Day Event and the Changes to your Island

Turkey Day is rumoured to take place on the 25th of November from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM on the day, players will witness the event character Franklin the Turkey making an appearance on your island near Resident Services. There will be a cooking table near the emotive Turkey character and along with this; decorations representing the event will be set up close by.

The Villagers of your island will put on hats, carry plates and drinks, and socialise at the plaza. Furthermore, there will be Thanksgiving music that will start to play on the Island.

The main premise of the event is centred around cooking Thanksgiving dishes. Talking to Franklin will give your player recipe instructions for the unique Thanksgiving dishes. There are four dishes in total and players can collect the recipe ingredients around the island by a host of activities such as diving and looking for materials.

The ingredients which are slightly more difficult to find could be traded with villagers in their houses. you’re missing from villagers by trading fish to them inside their houses. After gathering all of the recipe ingredients, they can be brought to Franklin who will cook the grandeur dishes and you will receive Turkey Day DIY Crafting recipes and items in return.

The Event DIY Recipes and Items

Dataminers have set out to find information on the event for 2021 and there have been observations made so far of the changes that will be coming to the event, one of which was the actual event day being changed. It should be noted that the DIY recipes can be crafted again whereas the items are event specific that Franklin will give you. Here is the list of items and DIY Recipes that you as the player will be able to earn on the 25th of November:

DIY Recipes:

  • Turkey Day Decorations — Requires 1 piece of ‘Clay’, 2 ‘Softwood’, and 5 ‘Clump Of Weeds’
  • Turkey Day Casserole — 5 Iron Nugget, 1 Clay
  • Turkey Day Garden Stand — 3 Clay, 8 Stone
  • Turkey Day Wheat Decor — 10 Clump Of Weeds
  • Turkey Day Hearth — 1 Campfire, 30 Stone, 10 Clay
  • Turkey Day Table Setting — 4 Clay, 2 Iron Nugget
  • Turkey Day Chair — 5 Wood, 2 Hardwood, 2 Softwood
  • Turkey Day Table — 10 Hardwood, 5 Softwood

  • Turkey Day Wall
  • Turkey Day Flooring
  • Turkey Day Rug
  • Cornucopia
