Depending on how long you have been a high-ranking Apex Legends player you may have more than one dive trail. So now that you have gone through the long grind of a ranked season and earned that dive trail, you may be wondering how to use it. In this guide, we will cover how to equip and use a dive trail in Apex Legends.

How to use a dive trail

In order to equip your dive trail, you will need to go into your loadout on the main menu. Once in the loadout, you will need to go under game customization.

Unless you earned your rank during the first two seasons of ranked your dive trail will only last for one season. If you did earn your dive trail during season one or two of Apex Legends, then your trail should be permanent. Respawn has said the reason for them only being unlocked for a season is to alleviate the visual space when dropping. Dive trails are supposed to be special and everyone in the game having one would make them lose their meaning. To incentivize players, trails will have four different styles that will repeat every four seasons. This means that the trial players earn during season three can’t be earned again until season seven.

Many players have voiced their discontent with this decision on Apex’s forums. Despite this, the trials have not been changed as of season 11. Even though you do not get to keep the trails, you do get to keep the gun charms and the ranked badge permanently. So you still have something to show off your rank, just not while you drop from the ship. If you have any more questions about season 11 content make sure to check out our other guides.
