Best Ways to Get Hacksilver Fast in God of War Ragnarok

Purchasing new equipment and supplies is a key part of God of War Ragnarok. The currency of the nine realms is called Hacksilver, which is comprised of silver scraps that have many uses. While you accompany Kratos and Atreus on their journey to stop Ragnarok, you can spend Hacksilver and Brok and Sindri’s shops throughout the nine realms to craft new gear and upgrade your weapons. You won’t be able to use Hacksilver to purchase everything, and you’ll need other crafting materials in addition to Hacksilver to create some gear though. Still, you’ll need a lot of it, so here are the best ways to get Hacksilver in God of War Ragnarok.

How to Get Hacksilver in God of War Ragnarok

Hacksilver can be obtained by doing absolutely everything in God of War Ragnarok, so the best way to get it is just by playing as much as possible. That doesn’t mean logging the most hours possible, but rather doing all the side content and exploring every nook and cranny of the nine realms.

Hacksilver is found in every type of chest with the exception of Nornir chests, which only contain Idunn Apples and Horns of Blood Mead to increase your maximum HP and Rage respectively. It’s also dropped from every enemy you kill. So, to get the most Hacksilver possible, just stray from the main path, open every chest you find, and slay every foe that stands in your way.

Also, don’t forget to sell all of your old gear at shops when you have the chance. Even if stuff isn’t worth too much, it adds up. You can also sell your artifacts, the collectibles that you encounter on your journey, without any penalty. They still count toward completion even if you sell them, the game even reminds you of this often.

Ultimately, there’s plenty of Hacksilver on the table for God of War Ragnarok players that take their time to explore the nine realms and complete as many Favors as they can. The best gear and upgrade materials, such as Chaos Flames and Frozen Flames, are locked behind optional activities as well, so make sure you work on things outside of the main story every now and then.

God of War Ragnarok is available now on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
