This is a guide designed to help you maximize experience and squad points for Call of Duty Ghosts. Unfortunately there are no 100% effective methods to help everyone get these things quickly, but hopefully these brief tips will help give you an advantage over your opponents.
How to get Squad Points
Squad Points (or SP) are invaluable. They are used to purchase gun attachments, perks, weapons and so much more, so you’ll want to get as many as you can, as quickly as possible. Here are a few simple ways.
Firstly, you will be credited 2SP every time you level up. This is the simplest way to get them as even the worst player will level up over time eventually. Just by playing the game you’re rewarded with SP. For tips on how to level up quickly, see the next part of this guide, below. To maximize the number of squad points you can get from this method, you can always unlock 2 or 3 new soldiers for 3SP from the Create a Soldier menu. The quickest levels to get are 1-10, so you will get quite a few SP if you level 3 or 4 soldiers to rank 10.
Next, you get 1SP for completing the Field Order in a match. This can potentially be used to get a squad point every game if you’re vigilant (and good) enough. These are normally not very difficult to achieve. They tend to involve getting 1-3 kills using certain methods. As a side note; “Humiliate the next opponent” means that you have to teabag (or crouch repeatedly over) the corpse of your opponent.
Finally, make sure to keep an eye on your Operations. These are the new ‘Challenges’ in Call of Duty Ghosts. They reset every 14 days, so you have plenty of time to complete them. After playing a few games with your soldiers, have a look at the Operations to see which ones you’re close to and which seem obtainable. You get 1SP for every challenge you complete, with bonus squad points awarded if you achieve multiple operations within the 2 week time period.
How to rank up fast
Everyone wants to level up in Call of Duty Ghosts. It’s the same every year; ranking up unlocks perks, guns and attachments, so you’ll want to get to the higher levels as soon as possible.
The quickest and best method to level up quickly is to find a game mode that you’re good at and stick to it. Depending on your playstyle, you will have more success with certain ones;
- Run-and-gun rushers who favor SMGs should play Cranked and Kill Confirmed
- Slower, more methodical players who use Marksmen rifles or Snipers should play Search and Rescue.
There are obviously classic playlists like Domination and Team Deathmatch that should work for any playstyle, so this is just a rough guideline. Secondly, as mentioned above in the Squad Points section; Operations are a good method for quick leveling. Each challenge that you complete is normally worth upwards of 500XP and can be a good way to get bonus experience.
Finally, I would suggest using small kill-streaks. If you use kill-streaks that are earned with only a few kills, then you will earn them more often. By earning them more often, you will get the bonus EXP associated with them more commonly. If you aren’t particularly skilled, you can still apply the same method using the Support package. If you are skilled, then the Specialist bonus is possibly one of the fastest way to rank up very quickly.
