Call of Duty: Vanguard Reticle Bug: What to Do if Challenges Aren’t Working

Recommended Videos

In Call of Duty: Vanguard, players can complete reticle challenges to unlock new reticles for their weapon’s scopes and sights. Normally, players will have to get kills while having a certain optic equipped in order to unlock new scope reticles, but some players are reporting that reticle challenge progress is not being tracked when they play. Just like the camo progress bug, reticle challenges do not work all of the time right now. Here’s what you can do to fix reticle challenges not working in Call of Duty: Vanguard.

How to Fix Reticle Challenges Not Counting in Vanguard

Right now, there isn’t a guaranteed fix for reticle challenges not working in Call of Duty: Vanguard. Challenge tracking bugs have been present in previous Call of Duty games like Warzone and Black Ops Cold War, so this is nothing new for veteran players. Issues like these typically get resolved with a patch shortly after the glitch pops up, but the timing could be different for this glitch since Vanguard is still so new.

Right now, Sledgehammer Games is not only working on upcoming content like the Season One content drop or the Shipment map, but also attempting to address the wide array of bugs that players have been running into over the course of Vanguard’s launch weekend. Camo challenges not progressing, packet burst problems, and general connection issues are just the tip of the iceberg. That means a reticle challenge fix might not be too high on the priority list.

However, the developers are usually pretty good about fixing these things fast, so it shouldn’t be too long before a hotfix goes live. In the meantime, there’s not much you can do to fix the issue on your end. You’ll unfortunately just have to wait until Sledgehammer Games addresses the issue. Your ADS kills will not track for now.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
