Destiny 2: How to Complete Summoning Rituals in Haunted Sectors

Recommended Videos

Festival of the Lost is here again in Destiny 2, and this year, players have to complete Summoning Rituals in Haunted Sectors to earn rewards. Haunted Sectors are a new activity for this year’s Festival of the Lost event, and they’re the main thing that players will be grinding if they want to earn rewards from Eva Levante. Completing a Summoning Ritual in a Haunted Sector is a required step for the Gone But Not Forgotten quest, so you’ll have to do at least one during the Festival of the Lost event. Here’s how to complete a Summoning Ritual in a Haunted Sector in Destiny 2.

How to Complete Summoning Rituals in Destiny 2

Before you can complete a Summoning Ritual, you need to unlock Haunted Sectors first. You can access Haunted Sectors from a playlist on the Tower map, but you need to complete the first two quest steps for Gone But Not Forgotten first. The first step only requires you to obtain your Festival of the Lost mask, while the second requires you to complete activities to earn Spectral Pages and defeat enemies to acquire Candy.

After you’ve unlocked the Haunted Sector playlist, you will unlock step 3 of Gone But Not Forgotten. This quest step requires you to enter a Haunted Sector and complete a Summoning Ritual. Summoning Rituals can appear during Haunted Sectors, denoted by a marker with a letter that looks like a control point from the Crucible.

Once you stumble across one, simply stand in the designated area until the ritual is completed. Once you reach 100%, enemies called Headless Ones will appear. Defeat the Headless One to complete the Summoning Ritual and finish this quest step. That’s all you need to do for now, but these rituals are a core mechanic of this year’s Festival of the Lost event.

Throughout the event, you can complete Summoning Rituals to transform Spectral Pages acquired from other activities into Manifested Pages, which can be used to complete the new Book of the Forgotten lore book. You’ll be coming back to these spooky Lost Sectors and shooting Headless Ones fairly often during the Festival of the Lost, so stock up on Spectral Pages and keep an eye out for Summoning Rituals.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia.
