Deus Ex: Mankind Divided: How To Dominate Conversations And Win Character Debates

by Mike Guarino

During key moments in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided you will find yourself in a situation where you are in a debate with a character. While these instances are important, their outcomes can be vastly different depending on how well you read the character and give the best possible answers. This guide will help you to win every character debate and get the best possible outcome.

Luckily, it doesn’t take a whole lot for you to become a master of conversations in this game, as there’s just one augmentation that you need focus on to become a master. This augmentation is the Social Enhancer, which will allow you to analyze the mental state of your target to figure out the best answers for the debate, while also allowing you to persuade and interrupt your target.

The key to winning character conversation debates is to pay attention to the Alpha, Beta and Omega bar that is on the top left side of the screen as the conversation is going on. As your target is talking you will notice that some of these boxes will occasionally flash as the conversation goes on, and the one that flashed the most means it’s the one linked to the answer you want to give. Each of the answer choices that you have will tell you that it is best suited for either Alpha, Beta or Omega, so just keep your eye on the one that flashed the most and you’ll always give the best answer.

There will also be some moments where you can persuade or interrupt these characters, which will further turn the tide in you favor. These will suddenly appear on the screen when the opportunity to use them arrives, meaning that you have to act quickly. While not absolutely vital to winning conversations, they can be cool to use just to see how they impact the conversation and swing things back in your favor.

That’s really all there is to it with the character conversation debates in this game, and as long as you follow what’s in this guide you shouldn’t have much of a problem winning every one of them.
