Does Guardians of the Galaxy Have Multiple Endings?

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy lets players make choices throughout the story, but does the game have multiple endings? Usually, narrative-driven games that allow players to make decisions have several branching paths to follow depending on how the player wants things to unfold. That being said, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy doesn’t have as many diverging paths as something like Detroit: Become Human or even Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy, but the journey can still take you in some interesting directions if you choose the right things. So, does Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy have multiple endings?

Are There Multiple Endings in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy?

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy does not have multiple endings. There is a definitive end to the story that all players will reach at some point regardless of the decisions they make along the way. The beginning of the game and the end of the game will be the same for all players because we’re building a very strong climactic ending that’s going to be exciting,” says narrative director Mary Demarle. “We want everyone to experience that feeling in the game in order to have the best adventure they possibly can.”

Still, choices are actually still quite important in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. While the story never strays that far off the main path, you can still end up in various unique situations based on your decisions. “Choices and consequences are part of the experience,” says senior creative director Jean-Francois Dugas. Some situations can play out slightly differently based on your decisions, but all players will still follow the same path.

So no, there are not multiple endings in this game. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy has one definitive ending that everyone will see regardless of their chosen path through the game. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pay attention to dialogue options or story decisions, though. Choosing or saying the right thing can have numerous benefits both large and small later down the line.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
