FIFA 22 is upon us and like all great FIFA games, FIFA 22 allows you to play with your friends. What differs in this year’s version of FIFA is that you are able to play with friends in more game modes than ever before. It’s not all given to you upfront though, so here is how you play against friends in FIFA 22.
How to Play With Friends in FIFA 22
In this year’s FIFA, it’s all about cooperative play and luckily, this doesn’t just mean exhibition and online games. Now, that reach goes way further than ever before. You still have couch co-op as well, so the multiplayer experience here is about as good as it gets. Here are the modes that have co-op with friends enabled.
Kick-off
The basic couch co-op of FIFA 22, you can play with a friend in this mode by moving your controller icon to whatever side you’d like. If you want to play on your friend’s team, move the controller to their side. In addition to this, you can track your head-to-head record if you’re signed into your account, which is great for keeping lifetime scores.
How to Play With Friends in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team
Ultimate Team has been one of the most talked-about modes in FIFA games recently and because of that, the ability to play with friends has been expanded upon this year.
In order to play with friends, go to Friendlies in the Play section and then you can select couch play or face a friend online. From here, select your teams and you’re good to go.
If you want to change it up a bit, press Triangle or Y to add a controller in Draft, Rival, and Squad Battles. All forms of Ultimate Team are able to be experienced with friends this time around. To start an Ultimate Team lobby, press R2 or RT to start a Co-op lobby at any time and from there you can invite a friend.
How to Play Co-op Seasons in FIFA 22
It gets even better as you can play with a friend in Seasons mode now too. With a friend, you can choose to select a team together and try to reach Division 1.
In order to access it, go to Play, then choose a new season, and from there, invite your friends from the list. After you’ve done that, you select who you want to play as and look for an opponent.
How to Play Pro Clubs With Friends
In Pro Clubs, playing with friends is very easy and you simply create a player and then create a team of your own or join your friend’s team. You can invite multiple people as well and once you have the amount you want, hit Play Match and choose your position and you’re off and running.
How to Play Volta With Friends
All modes in Volta are available as well and that includes Single Match, Squads, and Story mode as well. In order to play with friends in squad mode, select Squad Up, and then once in the lobby, choose Invite Friend and there you can invite whoever you want. If you want to play couch multiplayer with your friends, go to Volta in Kick-Off mode from the main menu and you’re good to go.
FIFA 22 is going to be one of the most immersive and realistic editions of the game ever and the focus on new animations and moves is going to bring the experience to a whole different level.
