Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers How to Level Up to 80 Fast

Recommended Videos

With everyone playing through the new expansion Shadowbringers, it’s easy to forget that theirs the eventual EXP grind that all players must face. On top of that, this new area brings with it the toughest monsters you’ve faced yet, and you’ll need to be in tip top shape to survive harrowing levels and dungeons. The most important factor of this new progression is the brand new level cap, which is now 80.

Ten levels might not seem like that big of a deal, but longtime players of XIV know that the struggle to level up is real, and Shadowbringers is no exception to this. Not only that, but the expansion requires you to be at least level 70 before you can even enter the First, making this the quintessential hardcore add on for the game. Suffice to say that getting to level 80 will be no easy task, but thankfully there are some ways to help alleviate this issue. Here’s how to level up to 80 fast in Shadowbringers.

How to Level Up to 80 Fast.

Honestly, doing the main story quests in Shadowbringers will be the easiest and most efficient way to level up quickly in the expansion. However, you will eventually run into a difficulty spike, especially in the later quests. This will make things that much harder to progress, leaving you to look elsewhere for more EXP. This little problem is helped with side quests and dungeons, both of which can be done with parties.

Side questing is nothing new, but these offer little experience and can take a long time. Still, it helps quite a bit in the long run, especially when it comes to the special items they give. The biggest opportunity however will be running the highest level dungeon available to you, which you can locate in the Duty Finder. Dungeons offer the highest amount of EXP, other than Raids of course, but since their is no Raid for Shadowbringers as of this writing, this will be the best possible solution.

Of course if you don’t want to grind out dungeon after dungeon, you can also take part in the FATE events. FATES are real time events that occur in the open world and are available to any player no matter the level. These can differ from time trials, to defeating a certain amount of enemies to complete. Either way, always be on the look for these, as they will almost always offer more than just EXP.

You can also do this while queuing up for a dungeon, as it can take a very, very long time for a party to become complete. That way you’re not just standing around wasting time, not compiling experience for your character. It’s not entirely ideal, but these have always been the best and fastest ways to level up in MMORPG’s, including XIV. Just keep an eye on your EXP Bar, and make sure that your at the appropriate levels for the next main story quest to ensure that you get the most out of them.
