With a new season of Fortnite arriving with Season 8 the map has changed once again.  With the start of the new season in Fortnite players will find that there are some new locations in Fortnite with a big volcano added to the map, as well as two new locations in the Lazy Lagoon and Sunny Steps.  The big changes in Fortnite’s map for Season 8 are largely going to be found in the northeastern part of the map.  But this part of the map has seen massive sweeping changes.  From the big water area of Lazy Lagoon and the pirate ship, to the hot springs, Aztec town (Sunny Steps), or the massive volcano that’s popped, there are a lot of different things to see in Season 8 of Fortnite when it comes to map changes.

Lazy Lagoon

Lazy Lagoon is one of the new named areas in the Season 8 map changes.  This area houses a big body of water with a pirate ship a small town nearby.  It’s also the location of this week’s Secret Star.  Head to the town just east of the Pirate Ship to find the star once you’ve completed Season 8 Week 1 Challenges.

Pirate Ship

There’s now a massive pirate ship in Fortnite.  Head into the Lazy Lagoon to see this ship.  The ship almost always has a bevy of weapons and items, but you’re likely going to encounter resistance for the first couple weeks as players drop in to take a look at this new location in Fortnite for Season 8.

Volcano

Looking at the new map for Fortnite in Season 8 the Volcano is pretty hard to miss.  This massive natural wonder isn’t named on the map but it’s easily recognizable from the air or from the ground with it’s bright glowing lava streaming from it.

Inside the Volcano

Players can go inside the Volcano if they want as well.  They can enter from above the Volcano hole at the top of it or from below.  Inside they’ll find dangerous magma/lava and a throne area.

Pirate Camps

There are a number of Pirate Camps that have popped up in Fortnite for Season 8.  So many that it’s actually one of the Season 8 Week 1 Challenges to find them.  You’ll find these pirate camps all over the map and not just in the area nearby all of the pirate themed areas that have been added.  Keep your eyes peeled for these fire pits, pirate cannons, and flags.  You just might have found a pirate camp.

Pirate Cannons

Sunny Steps

Sunny Steps is the second new named area in Fortnite for Season 8.  This area looks like it was inspired by Mayan ruins and then was added a bright coat of paint.  This area is littered with sconces and temples with massive staircases to climb.

Hot Springs

The hot springs are another new area in the game that wasn’t in the Fortnite map before Season 8.  This area features four pools of steaming water, but it also features a number of different vents that can boost you high into the air.  You can see the white steam shooting out of the ground.  Simply walk over one of these steam vents and it will boost you into the air.

Season 8 Map Changes in Fortnite

These changes are some of the biggest changes that you’ll find in Fortnite for Season 8.  There will likely be even more on the way so keep your eyes peeled for more map changes in Fortnite as Season 8 continues.  If you
