Fortbyte #48 has been added to the Fortnite map and yet again, players who want to collect the puzzle piece will need to have a special item as well as finding the hidden location. This Fortbyte asks players to use the Vox Pickaxe to smash a gnome that sits beside a mountain top throne. We’ll walk you through how to get the Vox Pickaxe and where this mountain top throne sitting gnome can be found.
First things first though, you can’t get Fortbyte #48 if you don’t have the Vox Pickaxe. This is an item in the Battle Pass that is rewarded for reaching Tier 55. If you haven’t leveled up that far yet, you’re gonna need to come back for this Fortbyte once you have. Before you head out to find the gnome that needs to be smashed, make sure you equip the Vox Pickaxe, which can be found in the Locker section of the main menus.
The “Throne” you’re looking for is actually a toilet
The Mountain Top Throne and gnome that you need to smash is actually located in the snowy region of the game. The throne that Epic alludes to is actually a toilet that is located between a few trees on a mountain in this region. Just head northeast of Happy Hamlet and use the map above and you should have no problem collecting this one.
When you land, you’ll immediately see the toilet situated between the trees next to a big rock. You’ll see a trash can to the left of the “throne” and the gnome to the right. You will not see the Fortbyte unless you smash the gnome with the Vox Pickaxe. Once you smash it the Fortbyte will appear and you can collect yet another Fortbyte on your way to the 90 needed for the Singularity Skin.
There will be 100 Fortbytes released during Season 9 in Fortnite. Each piece that you collect reveals another piece of a mysterious picture of Bunker Jonesy and his scribbling on a cave wall. More importantly for some, collecting these items is a daily challenge that requires finding these hidden locations on the map or completing weekly challenges or reaching certain tiers.
