Fortnite – How to Get the Merry Mint Pickaxe

Recommended Videos

Fortnite‘s holiday-themed Merry Mint Pickaxe has been causing quite a stir in the community, but luckily there’s an easy way to get it. It should still be widely available, but given the massive popularity of Fortnite, it might not stay that way for much longer.

How Do I Get the Merry Mint Pickaxe?

Just like most other Fortnite cosmetics, you can pick it up in the store. The thing with the Merry Mint Pickaxe, however, is that it’s not in the store you’re thinking of. The item is not available in Fortnite’s item shop. To get a code for the pickaxe, you’ll have to go to a participating retailer and purchase any officially licensed Fortnite product. According to Epic Games, you can only get the Pickaxe at Gamestop, Target, and Amazon 4-Star retail locations in the United States.

If you buy something Fortnite-related at one of these stores, you’ll be given a special card with a code on it which you can redeem for your very own Merry Mint Pickaxe. These cards are in high demand, and while Epic may be doing its best to keep them supplied, it’s probably best to call your local retailer and check if they have any cards before you make a purchase.

What Do I Have to Buy to Get a Code?

In order to get a code for the pickaxe, you’ll have to buy any piece of Fortnite merchandise. Some of these items, like Funko Pop figures, aren’t too expensive, but Epic has begun to roll out a new product to stores that most people will probably buy instead. Physical V-Buck cards are now carried in stores across the country, and these qualify for the Merry Mint Pickaxe promotion.

Buying V-Bucks to get a pickaxe code will most likely provide the best value unless you’re already in the market for other Fortnite merchandise. The cheapest card is $10, so you’ll be able to pick up a battle pass or a skin and get the rare pickaxe thrown in as a bonus. V-Buck cards have been running out of stock everywhere just like the Merry Mint Pickaxe codes, so be sure to check with the store to make sure they have some in stock before heading out.
