Guardians of the Galaxy: How to Unlock New Outfits

Recommended Videos

How do you get new outfits in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy? There are plenty of fancy costumes that you can find in the new Guardians of the Galaxy game, ranging from original suits to outfits inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Each Guardian has several unique costumes to discover, but some of them cannot be acquired until much later in the game. Unfortunately, your favorite outfits for each character may not be accessible until just before the credits roll. Here’s how to unlock new outfits in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

How to Unlock New in Guardians of the Galaxy

Outfits are unlocked by finding small metal containers hidden throughout the game. These containers have a bright pink light on the front so you can spot them from afar, but they’re typically found well off the beaten path. Each container has one outfit for a specific character, and each costume has a set location so you can miss an outfit if you don’t find the container.

For example, one of the earliest costumes you can earn is the Nova Corps outfit for Drax. It can be obtained in Chapter 5 when the group returns to the Nova Corps station. If you check out one of the bathrooms in the opposite direction of your main objective, you can find this costume.

Most of the outfits in the game are hidden away from the main story’s path, so always look for alternate paths and secret entrances. There are usually components nearby as well, so keep an eye out for their signature glow. You can unlock a perk using components at a workbench that plays a sound anytime components are nearby, and this is a great way to pad your costume collection since you’re bound to find costume containers along the way.

If you aren’t finding many costumes in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, then don’t fret. The game only hands out a few of them in the early chapters of the game, but they become much more plentiful in the second half of the story. You’re not likely to find more than one per chapter when you’re just starting out. Sadly, most of the best costumes are relegated to the second half of the game, so you’re out of luck if you want an MCU suit or something else like that right from the get-go.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
