Fortnite The Sideways

How to Enter The Sideways in Fortnite

The Sideways is a new area that appears on the Fortnite map in Season 8, and many of the new Punchcard quests require players to visit the area. The Sideways changes locations each match, so it can be difficult to find if you don’t know what to look for. Once you do learn what The Sideways is, however, it’s really easy to find every round. It’s home to dangerous enemies, but you can find powerful new Sideways weapons inside. Here’s how to enter The Sideways in Fortnite.

How to Enter the Sideways in Fortnite

The Sideways is marked on the map with an orange circle with a purple outline. You should also be able to see the giant orange dome surrounding it from the sky as you drop off the battle bus. To enter The Sideways, just make your way to the affected area and walk into the orange dome.

Once you’re inside, you will experience low gravity and encounter dangerous Sideways monsters. There are a few types of these monsters with different types of abilities, so be careful when fighting them. Some of them explode, others leave behind poison gas, and others do a lot of damage when they hit you. They can break through structures and will chase you relentlessly, so make sure you’re armed before you venture inside.

Inside, you can find new Sideways weapons like The Sideways Rifle or Sideways Minigun. You can also obtain Monster Cube Parts that you can use to upgrade Sideways weapons to higher rarities. Because the loot there is so good, The Sideways is always packed with other players, so be careful when you go there.

As it stands right now, there is only one sideways zone per game. The Sideways tends to spawn over named locations like Pleasant Park, Craggy Cliffs, or Corny Crops. More Sideways zones could start to appear later in the season, but that’s all just speculation for now. The Sideways is home to some of Fortnite Season 8’s best gear, so it’s very much worth the risk to venture inside.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
