Rawhide is one of the basic crafting materials in God of War Ragnarok, but just because it’s basic doesn’t mean that you can’t run out of it. Because it’s used in pretty much every crafting recipe for the majority of the game, you’ll need to amass a large stock of Rawhide if you want to be able to afford everything you want at Brok and Sindri’s shops. Thankfully, this crafting component can be found pretty much everywhere, and if you complete Favors and explore off the beaten path, you shouldn’t need to worry about your supply. Here’s how to get Rawhide for crafting in God of War Ragnarok.
How to Get More Rawhide in God of War Ragnarok
Rawhide can be found everywhere in God of War Ragnarok. According to the in-game Codex, it is found “in coffins and chests off the beaten path.” That may not sound like there are too many opportunities to find Rawhide, but you’d be surprised how many chests there are for Kratos to smash even in the game’s first few zones.
As stated above, you shouldn’t have a problem obtaining Rawhide if you deviate from the main story and explore optional areas and complete Favors. Ignoring the obvious path ahead will lead you to coffins and chests and, in turn, ramp up your Rawhide supply. The game rewards you for taking your time and seeing everything it has to offer, and with the Favors being as high quality as they are, there’s really no reason to ignore God of War Ragnarok’s side content, especially since you’ll get a ton of Rawhide and other crafting materials along the way.
Later in the game, once mid-tier crafting materials start to appear in chests throughout the nine realms, you will be able to buy Rawhide from Brok and Sindri’s shops using Hacksilver. If you need a large quantity of Rawhide and you need it fast, just burn some Hacksilver at the shop and you won’t have to go exploring. You can also sell unwanted materials too, so if you’re not using any Shattered Runes, you can exchange those for Hacksilver which you can then go and buy Rawhide with. Don’t forget to sell your treasures and collectibles too, since there’s no reason to hang onto them once you’ve picked them up.
God of War Ragnarok is available now on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
