Animal Crossing: New Horizons has just had the biggest and latest DLC arrive for the experience in the form of Animal Crossing Happy Home Paradise. There is a host of new features and activities for players to enjoy if they decide to purchase this awaited DLC. This guide will take you through everything you need to know about the Animal Crossing: New Horizons DLC and how to start it once you have bought the expansion pack.

How to Purchase/Get the Animal Crossing DLC

There are two particular ways that you can go about acquiring the DLC, the first of which is by going through the Nintendo eShop and finding then purchasing the DLC. The second way is when you’ll be able to get it ‘free’ if you have Nintendo Switch Online and the ‘Expansion Pack membership’.

Once you have decided what method you will use to get the DLC, you can begin downloading it.

Now that you have acquired the DLC itself and downloaded it, you can now begin to play through the experience. Firstly, open up Animal Crossing: New Horizons and when the game boots up, exit your character home and you’ll receive a call from Tom Nook who suspiciously is asking you to go to the airport and meet another character.

Begin making your way to the airport on the island and you’ll meet the character ‘Lottie’ who has now hired you as an employee of the ‘Paradise Planning Team’. In order to start the DLC fully, you will first have to visit the headquarters of the team and this can be reached by talking to Orville in the airport and choosing the ‘I want to go to work’ dialogue option.

After which, your character will be transported to the Paradise Planning islands/headquarters and you can now start decorating the vacation homes for your clients and simply enjoy the atmosphere of the tropic islands.

Will you be playing through the DLC this month?

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on Nintendo Switch.
