Yellow Cracks Explained in God of War Ragnarok

Since the game doesn’t do a great job of explaining what the yellow cracks are, you’re probably wondering if you missed something or if you are even able to use them yet. The answer is not yet.

Much like the wind holes you might have found, you can’t access the yellow cracks until later in God of War Ragnarok. You need to obtain a certain thing first.

Though I won’t tell you what you need to obtain — that would be major spoilers which would ruin your experience — you can take comfort in knowing that the thing you need to use the yellow cracks is obtained through the main story.

That means that it is impossible for you to miss getting the thing you need for the yellow cracks. For now, all you need to do is mentally mark the area, if you want, and continue enjoying the game.

Luckily, God of War Ragnarok does a great job of routing you back to the main areas with yellow cracks. Of course, there are plenty more open areas that have yellow cracks available for you to use and unlock new regions.

Continue to explore the realms of God of War Ragnarok and focus on the Path or the Favors. The Favors are great, but the Path is what will get you what you need. While on the Path, you’ll continue progressing forward toward accessing the yellow cracks.

God of War Ragnarok is available now on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
