Every item in a Zelda game is important, but when it comes to The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening there are few as significant as the Pegasus Boots. These special items allow Link to sprint across the screen, slamming into objects or enemies, or using them to reach otherwise unreachable places. But while they’re important, they aren’t called out to the player’s attention until you stumble across them. In case you wanted to rush to these critical items, here’s where to get Pegasus Boots in The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake for Switch.
Where to Get Pegasus Boots
The Pegasus Boots, like most of the key items in The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening are found within one of the eight main dungeons. Specifically it can be found in Key Cavern, the third main dungeon in the game. This dungeon requires some work to get into though, so check out our guide that explains everything about Kanalet Castle and the Five Golden Leaves. Once you’ve done that you can head into the Key Cavern where the Pegasus Boots reside.
We won’t be doing a full walkthrough of Key Cavern here, so just keep playing through the dungeon until the miniboss. This means you’re close to finding the Pegasus Boots and unlocking more of Link’s abilities. They can be found to the right after defeating the miniboss. Follow the path, pushing blocks out of your way as needed, and you’ll find a lone chest. Inside are the Pegasus Boots.
These handy items don’t need to be equipped and give Link the ability to sprint very quickly. Hold down L to start the run, with Link charging up then sprinting across the screen. You can use this in a number of ways, including knocking items down from heights or killing enemies that get in your way. You can also use them to leap across large holes that previously blocked your progress.
And that’s where to get Pegasus Boots in The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake for Switch.
