Recommended Videos

The Wild Update will be coming to Minecraft soon, and for details regarding the release date, biomes, mobs, and everything else, look no further. Minecraft Live 2021, the biggest Minecraft event of the year, took place on the 16th of October. The event brought with it news related to the game, as well as a Mob Vote which saw a new mob called the Allay being voted into the game. Among many interesting announcements, The Wild Update was also unveiled. This is an upcoming update that will add a host of new content to Minecraft. It is quite a large update, with a bit of something to please everyone.

Minecraft The Wild Update Release Date

Although a specific release date has yet to be given, Mojang has scheduled for the update to be released sometime in 2022. The update will be available for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition and Minecraft: Java Edition.

Prior to The Wild Update, you can look forward to the long-awaited Caves & Cliffs Part 2 update which Mojang intends to release in late 2021. This update will bring a number of dramatic changes to the game, including new biomes.

Minecraft The Wild Update New Biomes

Perhaps the most exciting addition that will come with The Wild Update is the new biomes. There have been two revealed biomes that will come to Minecraft with The Wild Update, namely Mangrove Swamps, and The Deep Dark. The inclusion of these biomes is sure to diversify the world of Minecraft and make exploration more fun.

Mangroves Swamps, as the name suggests, will bring mangrove trees to Minecraft. These trees will produce a new type of wood to use for building. Swamps will also be a place for you to mine mud blocks which you can use for crafting. The Deep Dark, on the other hand, is an underground biome. It features the ancient ruins of old civilizations. Exploring The Deep Dark may yield you treasure, but you may also encounter some dangerous mobs.

Minecraft The Wild Update New Mobs

A number of new mobs will be introduced to Minecraft with The Wild Update. This includes the following:

Frog

To populate the new Mangrove Swamps, Mojang will be introducing frogs to the game. Interestingly, baby frogs will actually take the form of tadpoles. Furthermore, these tadpoles will grow into one of three different types of frogs depending on where they grow up.

Allay

The Allay is a friendly mob. If you give it an item, it will collect more of the same or similar items. It loves music, and if there are any note blocks nearby it will leave any collected items near the note blocks.

The Warden

The Warden is a blind mob that inhabits The Deep Dark. Although it is terrifying, you can sneak your way around it.

Firefly

The upcoming frogs are going to need something to snack on, and fireflies will be the mob to serve that purpose.

Minecraft 1.19 Gameplay Changes

An important gameplay change will occur with regards to how sound is utilized in Minecraft. Your actions will cause vibrations that can be sensed by The Warden or detected by sculk blocks. This means that actions such as walking, eating, and using tools will have an additional element for you to consider.

Minecraft is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and mobile.
