Pokemon Sun and Moon Guide: Where to Find Rockruff

by Kyle Hanson

Pokemon Sun and Moon have definitely expanded the Pokedex, adding a ton of new Pokemon for trainers to find and catch. While there are tons of new ones, a select few have stood out as both more elusive and more desired by players. One of these id definitely Rockruff. This dog is cool in a number of ways. First off, he’s ridiculously cute. Secondly, he will evolve into different forms, depending on which version of the game you own. So, with so many players seeking out this particular Pokemon, here’s a guide on where to find Rockruff in Pokemon Sun and Moon.

Thankfully, Rockruff can actually be found on the very first island, Melemele Island. To find him, you’ll need to complete the first Grand Trial. This will grant you a Tauros, which you can use to ride around the island quickly. With the Tauros in your possession you can also now access some previously locked away areas, including one that is home to Rockruff.

You need to get to Ten Carat Hill. To do this, head home and hop on your Tauros. Move toward the South and go inside the cave that you find there. You’ll meet a man who will help guide you, but you need to be riding your Tauros, or you can’t make it through at all. Rocks block the path, so you need to use Tauros to break them down.

Eventually you’ll come upon a large grey stone cube, turn North and head out of the cave to Farthest Hollow. This is where to find Rockruff in Pokemon Sun and Moon. You should know what to do from here, just wander into the tall grass and encounter as many Pokemon as you can. Rockruff isn’t too rare, though it might take a few encounters to find one.

Good luck, hopefully this helped answer the question of where to find Rockruff in Pokemon Sun and Moon. If you found him anywhere else, be sure to share it in the comments below.
