There are a few mysterious items in Resident Evil 2, where the item kind of falls into your lap without any explanation for what to do with it. The battery is one, for example, but there are many more. We love helping players through the horror of the zombie-filled RPD, so here’s another guide to help out. Here’s where to use the red jewel and scepter in Resident Evil 2 Remake.

Really, the two things are one and the same. If you’re sitting there staring at the Scepter, then you have the Red Jewel as well. All you have to do is Examine the Scepter and rotate it until you find a switch. Hit A to trigger it and the Red Jewel will pop out, replacing the Scepter in your inventory. Now that you have that, you are probably wondering where to use the Red Jewel instead, cause that’s just how Resident Evil 2 Remake does things.

For the Red Jewel you are actually looking for a second object: the bejeweled box. It can be found in the Observation Room. Once you have it, just select either it or the Red Jewel from your inventory and combine the two items. They will open to reveal an RPD badge. Find out what to do with that right here.
