Riders Republic: How to Fix Crashes and Connection Issues

Recommended Videos

Riders Republic is a new massively multiplayer extreme sports game from Ubisoft that lets you indulge in a variety of extreme sports either solo or with your friends. However, just like any new game, Riders Republic is facing some issues and glitches. Many players have reported that the game crashes right after it is launched, while others have faced connection issues. Ubisoft even deactivated the Bunny Pack sighting an issue.

These issues were present during the trial phase of the game as well and it looks like Ubisoft has not ironed out the bugs post-launch. Here are some fixes that you can try to fix some issues in Riders Republic.

How to Fix Crashes and Launching Issues in Riders Republic

Recently, Ubisoft also took note of the crashing and launch issues plaguing the game and has assured players that the problems are under investigation and will be soon fixed. In a tweet, Ubisoft said that the developers are “aware of some crash issues” and even asked players some questions.

While we are still waiting for an official patch or hotfix, here are some things that PC users can try to fix crashes and launching issues in Riders Republic.

Update DirectX

Make sure that you have the latest version of DirectX installed. You can check and download the newest version from Microsoft’s Download Center. Riders Republic requires DirectX 12 or above and updating the version might help in fixing some problems.

Turn off overlay apps

Generally, it is recommended to close applications such as Steam and Discord running in the background. These third-party apps oftentimes stop the game from launching, which eventually results in in-game crashes.

Disable your Firewall

Firewall is another major reason behind game crashes. If you have antivirus software installed with a Firewall active, you might want to disable it. A Firewall usually stops applications from running, which can be another reason why the game’s crashing.

Keep your GPU drivers updated

Keeping GPU drivers up to date makes a noticeable difference in some cases. Make sure that the GPU drivers on your system are updated to the newest version. You can check for an update by launching the dedicated software for your particular GPU and manually checking for updates.

Uninstall the Beta Version

If you have installed a beta version of Riders Republic and are now shifting to the full version, it’s recommended that you get rid of the beta version before installing the game again.

Verify in-game files

It’s even possible that your game files have been corrupted, leading to game crashes. You can check whether your files are safe or not and repair any corrupted files in your game directory. To verify this in Ubisoft Connect, follow the below steps:

  • Boot up Ubisoft Connect and go to “Games.”
  • Choose Riders Republic.
  • Click on Properties from the left bar.
  • Navigate under the Local Files section and click on Verify Files.

To verify this in Epic Games Launcher, follow the below steps:

  • Open Epic Games Launcher and visit your Library.
  • Click on Riders Republic.
  • Click on the Settings icon and click on Verify.
  • Restart the launcher after the process completes.

Riders Republic is available now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, Google Stadia and Amazon Luna.
