Street Fighter 5 Guide: How To Earn Fight Money

Recommended Videos

Street Fighter 5 is now out and there has been talk for months about how content will be available for you to purchase with both in-game currency called Fight Money or actual money. The launch game is relatively bare bones for the time being, but there are still a number of ways to go ahead and work towards earning Fight Money for when the DLC characters and costumes launch.

Before you ever think about trying to earn Fight Money, make sure that you set up your network ID for Street Fighter 5. If you are not signed into this account, you will not earn any Fight Money, which will waste a lot of your time.

After doing that, the first thing you are going to want to do is go into Story Mode and play all 16 of the character stories. These will all provide you with Fight Money that adds up pretty quickly, with Capcom specifically saying that doing this alone will net you enough Fight Money to purchase the first DLC character Alex right away when he launches. The only disappointing thing is that it appears this can only be done once to where you get Fight Money as a reward.

After completing all of the character stories, it’s time to move onto Survival Mode. At this point, you should be a little bit more prepared after playing through Story Mode. By messing around with the different difficulties, you can net more Fight Money overall. Just keep changing characters and prepare to bring in even more money to spend in game when the DLC starts to go up in March.

With even more practice through Survival Mode, you can now move onto the online matches to earn more Fight Money. This might be more difficult as the people playing online might be really strong, so the previous two options might be a more efficient way to get it, especially for those that are new to the series.

The final way to earn Fight Money in the base game is to level up individual characters, with you getting 1,000 Fight Money per level. This is definitely a good reason to try out all the different characters quite a lot to level them up at a good speed.

There will be at least one other way to getting Fight Money come next month when the Challenge Mode is added, with tougher challenge said to provide better rewards. However, for now, you can do the four aforementioned options to start earning lots of Fight Money to save up for the future.
