Here are all the unlockable characters in the base game of Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania as well as the planned post-launch characters.

To unlock more characters, you’ll find them for sale at the Point Shop via the main menu. However, as the name of the option suggests, you’ll need points to unlock each individual character.

Here are the current characters who you can acquire from the shop:

  • Jam
  • Jet
  • Sonic the Hedgehog
  • Miles “Tails” Prower
  • Kazuma Kiryu (Yakuza series)
  • Beat (Jet Set Radio series)
  • C. AiAi
  • W. MeeMee
  • A. Baby
  • F. GonGon
  • P. YanYan
  • R. Doctor
  • Baby Robo

All of these characters cost anywhere between 3,000 to 5,000 points. You can earn points in-game by just playing the various activities like the main game, ranking challenges, and even the party games. As for post-launch content, this will all be purchased with actual money. There is no way to acquire them through in-game means. Here are the characters you can purchase via DLC.

  • Morgana (Persona 5)
  • Hello Kitty (Sanrio)
  • Suezo (Monster Rancher)
  • Sega Game Gear (SEGA Legends)
  • Sega Dreamcast (SEGA Legends)
  • Sega Saturn (SEGA Legends)

The first three characters as DLC will all be purchasable for $4.99 USD. However, the SEGA Legends characters will be all bundled either as a Digital Deluxe bonus via preorder. You can also get them in a separate bundle at $4.99 USD.

Unfortunately, only the main cast of Monkey Ball characters will be playable in the Party Games mode. The crossovers will only be playable in the Main Game and Ranking Challenge modes.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania is slated for release on October 5, 2021. It’ll be out on October 1 if you preordered the Digital Deluxe version. This game will be on the PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series S/X, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. To keep up with more guides, news, and the review regarding Banana Mania, click here.
