The inclusion of Cloud in SSB has been a source of great excitement for many fans. Of course, with his return in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, everyone is hoping to unlock the character quickly so they can use him online and against friends. There are a few ways to unlock characters though, with some taking quite a long time. To help you get the FF7 star unlocked as fast as possible, here’s our guide for how to unlock Cloud in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
You can always use our tried and true method for unlocking every character in SSBU, but that’s more of a shotgun approach where you might prefer something more specific. If you just want to speedrun the unlock of Cloud we can help out there as well. Thankfully there is a pretty easy method of doing it.
Classic Mode allows you to more effectively target your unlocks in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. To unlock Cloud you just have to beat the mode using Dark Samus…who just happens to be the very last character you unlock in World of Light. So that’s not a great idea, except that you can also unlock Dark Samus through Classic Mode, in Samus unlock route. This is easily the best way to unlock Cloud in SSBU, so give it a shot.
Otherwise you’ll have to play through a decent chunk of World of Light to get Cloud. He can be found in the Sacred Land in the World of Dark section of the game. You’ll need to have Zelda available, as she will open the path to him. This is much more cumbersome than just playing through Classic Mode twice, so I’d stick with the method laid out above if you are strapped for time.
