It might not seem like it from an outsider’s perspective, but Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a highly competitive game that relies on a steady balance between it’s massive list of characters. Of course, there’s no way to ever develop a perfectly balanced system with this many variables. This has led every new entry to have an ever-evolving tier list, with competitive players offering some idea as to who the best fighter is at that current time.
We’re going to put together our Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tier list here, explaining who the best fighter is at the time of last update. I emphasize this because a game like SSBU will have a meta that changes all the time. That is to say that the tier list is far from final, and will change all the time. It’s also not definitive, with the list drawing from my experience, and that of other players and pros. Look at this simply as a guide for who the best characters are at this time, but you should always choose based on your preferences and play style.
