The Artful Escape: How to Change Outfits

Recommended Videos

While The Artful Escape is mostly a linear experience, the game gives players plenty of opportunities to express themselves especially once you learn how to change outfits. Throughout the course of the game, Francis Vendetti is constantly trying to reinvent himself and it isn’t until a chance encounter with Frida that he gets exponentially closer to finding his true self. Thankfully, the developers gave a lot of attention to this feature so there is a lot to play with and make Francis the rocker you always wanted to be. Here’s everything we know on how to change outfits in The Artful Escape.

How to Change Outfits in The Artful Escape

To change outfits in The Artful Escape, you’ll need to progress deep into the game enough to meet Frida and gain access to her closet in Chapter 18. Once this chapter is unlocked, you can run through the intergalactic mall and check each shop to give Francis a much-needed makeover. Of note, these changes only apply to chapters played after 18 – any prior chapter replayed will not show these new threads. Check below for some more information on how to make Francis look even a tiny bit cooler.

Yes, You Can Turn Francis Into a Member of KISS

Below is a list of everything you can customize on Francis once unlocked:

  • Hairstyle
  • Glasses
  • Face Paint / Makeup
  • Socks / Undergarments
  • Shirt
  • Pants
  • Shoes
  • Jacket (goes over both the shirt/pants and jumpsuits)
  • Jumpsuits (goes over the shirt and will tuck into pants)
  • Gloves
  • Guitar

Almost all of the above can be further customized by pressing the X button (on the controller) to change the colors. On most items, you can change their primary, secondary, and tertiary colors for a really customized rocker look. We went with a Franz Ferdinad meets Daft Punk meets literally any 80s punk rocker look and are excited to see what others come up with.

The Artful Escape is available now for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, and PC.
