Supermassive Game’s newest narrative horror game is finally here, it is called The Quarry, and it is only right to be asking if the Deluxe Edition is worth it or not. Until Dawn, Supermassive Game’s last big narrative horror game, was filled with a great story, great content, and lots of replayability. With that being said, is the Deluxe Edition of The Quarry worth it?

Is The Quarry Deluxe Edition Worth It?

For starters, there are only two editions of the game: the Standard Edition and the Deluxe Edition. Available with both of the editions is a Pre-Order Bonus as well. The Quarry releases on June 9, 2022, at 9:00 p.m. PDT. Let’s break down the different editions.

The Quarry Standard Edition & Pre-Order

The Standard Edition will be $59.99 for last-gen and $69.99 for new-gen consoles. Like most Standard Editions, you’ll only get the base game, which is fine since The Quarry is a great game.

The Pre-Order Bonus content for The Quarry is a bundle of three different filter options. This bundle is also included in the Deluxe Edition, so I’ll go into detail about it there.

The Quarry Deluxe Edition

The Deluxe Edition of The Quarry has some pretty great stuff. First off, it costs $79.99 and includes the new-gen and last-gen versions within the same console family. For instance, buying the Deluxe Edition on PlayStation will get you the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game.

The Quarry Deluxe Edition offers retro ’80s-inspired character cosmetics for all of the playable characters. It is worth noting that this character cosmetics pack is said to be delivered on or by 7/8/2022, so keep that in mind. Though you can get this through the Pre-Order bonus, you’ll also get access to three different filter options that represent different eras of horror filmmaking. The filters are an 8mm-style film grain (Indie Horror), a retro VHS aesthetic (’80s Horror), or the classic black-and-white cinematic filter (Classic Horror).

With the Deluxe Edition, you’ll also get immediate access to Death Rewind which allows you three opportunities to rewind a playable character’s death. This feature is usually rewarded after beating the game once, but you’ll get it right at the jump. And lastly, the Deluxe Edition of The Quarry will give you a Movie Mode to sit back and watch the plot of The Quarry progress on its own.

So, is The Quarry Deluxe Edition worth it? To us, it is a yes since it does offer a lot of great content that might not be accessible in the game like the Movie Mode. Ultimately, it is up to you to decide how you enjoy The Quarry. If you’re ever in the need of assistance while playing, check out our The Quarry guides.

The Quarry is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
