There are two puzzles that have exploding stepping stones in chapter 19 of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. One puzzle is much easier to solve than the other.
When you encounter the first puzzle, you should see some wet footprints planted on the ground. Use your torch to look down on the ground. All you have to do is follow the footprints and you should make it to other side without getting blown up to bits.
The first puzzle should be straightforward as any dry stone should be avoided at all costs. The second stepping stone puzzle is a little bit more difficult, but Nathan Drake should have picked up a clue in his journal. It’s a piece of paper with symbols and a grid.
If you check your journal, you shall see the symbols with crosses on them. As you see pictured above, some squares are blank which means they are safe to step on. The ones with the symbol “X” on them means that they will kill you so avoid them.
The key to this puzzle is use your torch to see what direction the symbol is facing. Once you know what direction it is facing, it is pretty straightforward to figure it out. Remember to walk rather than run because you may inadvertently kill yourself if you go too fast.
We have provided you a proper path to take for those that don’t feel like figuring out the puzzle for themselves. There are 36 grids in this puzzle and just follow the red path that we have drawn out for you.
Just count up the squares and follow the patch accordingly. The black square we have drawn out indicates that there is a hole in the floor. You will see this when you get closer to it. Just turn right and move by three steps.
If you have followed the patch correctly, you’ll know that you have finished. There are no other stepping stone puzzles beyond this point. All you have to worry about for the rest of this chapter are the exploding mummies. Just press circle to dodge those annoying things.
