V Rising Time Guide: How Long is a Day and Can You Skip to Night?

Recommended Videos

Much like many gamers, a vampire should not be in the sun for an extended period in V Rising. You’ll need to find ways to avoid taking extreme damage from the sun or try your best to only go out at night. However, if you must go out during the day, there are plenty of ways that you’ll be able to hide away from the world. Make sure that you’ve got enough excess blood, though, or you may find yourself in a pinch.

If you’re looking to avoid being in the sun for as long as possible, or if you find yourself in a sticky situation and need to know how long it’ll be before the sun goes down, we’ve got you covered. Here are all of the details that you’ll need to know about how the day/night cycle in V Rising works!

Avoid the Day and Cherish the Night in V Rising

If you’re in the middle of combat during the day, you have a few extra bits to worry about, and that’s the fact that the sun is constantly draining your health. You’ll be able to craft potions and other items that can help you during the daytime, but at night is when you can come out to play. However, if you’re avoiding one part of the day, you’ll find a lot of wasted time, because you cannot skip time forward in V Rising.

Technically, if you’re taking the time to sleep during the day, you’ll have some extra time to do some things outside of the game, since there is also no pause button. The game is always online, with other players inhabiting the same world that you are in, so make sure that you’re always ready for anything. Since you can either venture out during the daytime or sleep the time away, you’ll need to know how much time you have before you can get busy again.

Well, it seems that the Day/Night Cycle in V Rising lasts around 15 to 20 minutes. You’ll be able to go out and about during the night without having to worry about constant health drain, but you’ll also lose out on a lot of extra time if you are always avoiding the sun. But, if you are sleeping, it’s nice to know that you’ll have a little extra time to step away from the computer for a bit before you need to come back and start grinding again.

There is currently no way to skip time in V Rising, however, Stunlock Studios are working on an offline mode, stating on their Official V Rising Discord:

“For those of you who can’t play now because of this due to inconsistent internet connections or something along those lines, we apologize for the inconvenience this will cause. It’s our estimation that offline play should be available some time in the next couple of days, but may be earlier.”

So skipping time may become something that players can do in the future, but as it stands, you currently cannot skip time.

V Rising is available now, in early access, on Microsoft Windows.
