XCOM 2 is one of those games that has a ton of different currencies that you can use to upgrade items, complete objectives, or just use for various important purposes. Supplies are probably the most important, but they can only be gained by performing different missions, or doing other obvious things. Intel on the other hand is a bit more cryptic, as it can be gained in more subtle ways, but also ways that are almost always available to you. If you keep finding yourself out of Intel during your runs, check out our guide on how to get Intel easily in XCOM 2.
As with anything in XCOM 2, there are multiple ways to accomplish the same task, however we’ll detail what seems to be the best and easiest way to gather a bunch of Intel at little cost to the player. To do this, simply take the Avenger back to Resistance HQ. Once there you just want to scan for as long as you can. This will constantly supply you with new batches of Intel, as long as you’re scanning.
Of course, this comes with its own pitfalls, as it will also push the clock forward at a rapid pace, while you and your team do nothing to prevent the progression of the Avatar Project. This means you only want to do this when you have no other really important missions to accomplish, or other stuff you should be doing on the XCOM 2 map.
Intel can also be gathered by choosing different research projects, like scanning through an Advent datapad, or something along those lines. However, that also occupies your research team for multiple days, so it’s not the best option. Scanning at HQ seems to be the easiest and best, but be sure to keep an eye out for progression on the Avatar Project while you sit at HQ scanning away.
