The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD fixed a lot of what was wrong with the original game. However, while some pieces of the opening were corrected, much of it is still a bit long, and frustrating. One of these is the short quest to get a cat to go back home, which is required before you can buy the slingshot. This quest was fixed a bit, but you still might get confused as to what to do, so here’s a quick walkthrough on how to get the cat back home in Zelda: Twilight Princess HD.

First off, you need to get Uli her cradle back. We touch on this in our Ordon Village guide, so check that out to get to this point. Once you give her the cradle and walk her home she’ll give you a new fishing rod. Here’s how to use it properly, but we’ll give a quick rundown so you have everything you need for the current task.

Head behind the nearby house that sits next to the water, you should have already seen the cat here so just go to where you last saw him. Equip your fishing rod and stand next to the water. Hit the A button to cast your line, and wait a while. You’ll see the bobber dip into the water, but you need to wait until the fish is really on the line. Once the bobber sinks below the water hit the button again to snag the fish on the line.

Just keep holding the button and moving the rod back and forth if necessary, and you should pull the fish up. It will fly off onto the ground, the cat will grab it and run home, and you’re essentially all done. Once you go back to the store the owner will feel much better and give you a bottle of milk, and you can buy the slingshot.
