Earlier this year EA showed off a small peek at the Battlefield Portal.  Today, ahead of the release of Battlefield 2042 we got to see a more comprehensive look at the new game portal which will serve as the gateway to all things Battlefield.  As revealed today in the trailer below, the Battlefield Portal is going to allow players to relive previous Battlefield experiences in the modern day.  Taking from esteemed games in the Battlefield franchise like: Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Bad Company, and Battlefield 3.

Taking a look at the trailer below you’ll find some familiar content, maps and factions that are from previous games and the Battlefield Portal is set up to allow you to experience this old content in the new game.  Simply put you can jump into these mode from the Battlefield Portal in what are seemingly predetermined game settings OR you can change and tinker them to your choosing.

How to Use the Battlefield Portal

EA says that you can login to the Battlefield Portal from anywhere to create custom game modes.  Any device, whether it’s a phone, desktop, or laptop that you can sign into your EA account with will allow you to get started.  Even if you don’t have Battlefield 2042 you will be able to login to the Battlefield Portal and create content and mess around with the tools.

Once a game mode is made, it can then be shared with friends via a share code.

The Battlefield Portal will have a mixture of pre-made experiences and things that you’ve created.  You can access these modes from the home page of the website.

The Large Maps are not going to be able to be played on the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Battlefield 2042.
