Call of Duty has not been the most beloved series as of recent following the reveal of the much hated Infinite Warfare trailer. However, the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops as backwards compatible on Xbox One a couple days ago got people really excited and it is certainly showing with sales numbers.
Following the news awhile back that Call of Duty: Black Ops would be coming to Xbox One as a backwards compatible game in the future, that wait finally was over on Tuesday as it went live for anybody that owned the game on disc or digitally.
It was to be expected that sales for the game would increase a good bit following this announcement, as Xbox One owners could now play the game without having to hook up their old systems, but the numbers from Amazon are pretty spectacular.
According to Amazon data after 24 hours of announcement as found by VideoGamer, sales for Call of Duty: Black Ops for Xbox 360 were up over 13,400% on the previous 24 hour period. This total is very impressive, though the sales were likely very few and far between at that point before the announcement.
For those of you that want to pick the game up to play, you would be better off just buying it digitally this week, as Xbox Live Gold members can get the game for only $9.99 this week on Xbox One. This is a great deal that will allow you to play one of the best of the Call of Duty series that has seen a major influx in multiplayer player base in the last day or so.
