The Call of Duty franchise usually doesn’t offer optional missions in the story mode, but Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare are to feature them.
The art director for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Brian Horton, said this during an interview with GamingBolt: “The campaign is comparable to classic Call of Duty [games]. The big difference being some of these optional missions you’ll be able to do all throughout the story campaign.”
Call of Duty games don’t usually feature very long single player campaigns, so hopefully these optional missions can prolong the experience.
It is also interesting that Horton said the campaign is “comparable to classic Call of Duty games”. There has been a lot of concern with gamers that this new game is totally different to what the series has been doing in the past. Space battles are new to Infinite Warfare and some people despise its inclusion.
The new game has taken a hit from gamers worldwide after its initial trailer received lots of dislikes on YouTube. It will be interesting to see if Call of Duty can still reign supreme in Fall 2016 as it faces stiff competition from both Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1.
