by AOTF Staff

Michael Brookes, Executive Producer at Frontier Developments, has recently spoken out about the upcoming Powerplay update for their space themed title Elite: Dangerous.

Promising to keep the community up-to-date, Brookes has confirmed that, despite recently announcing that the team is on track to release the beta version of Powerplay next week, the update is being pushed back by “up to an additional week”. This could result in the full release of the Powerplay update also being pushed back.

Brookes commented on the Frontier Developments forums:

“In order to be sure we release the best build we can we have now decided to move the Beta release out by up to an additional week, depending on progress, so I wanted to let you know as soon as possible. This also means the release date of Powerplay will change. We will of course keep you updated. We really appreciate your understanding.”

He swiftly added that the update is looking good but as “it’s a major update so it’s better to give it a little more time”. Brookes also revealed that the recent Elite: Dangerous Mac beta releases have aided the development on all platforms. Admitting that the team often looks to improve performance on individual platforms which in turn “benefits another”.
