The upcoming Evil Dead game has people hyped for an asymmetric experience in the survival-horror genre. We’re at launch week and many fans are hoping to play the moment it drops. Here, we’ll go over when the game will actually unlock and other things you need to know about the release time for Evil Dead: The Game.

Evil Dead: The Game Release Time

According to the official Twitter account for the game, Evil Dead will release on May 13, but not at midnight. In fact, the game will be playable at 7 AM PST, 10 AM EST, and 3 PM BST. Just convert the times accordingly with your region to get your answer.

This might be a bit different than many are used to, given that most major games release when midnight hits in your respective region. This could be due to the fact that the game will always require an internet connection.

Evil Dead Online on Other Platforms

There is also a major multiplayer component to the game in a cooperative sense, so servers will be up for all consoles at the same time. Top that off with crossplay, so everything has to be stable to provide a seamless experience.

Though, this will come with its own issues too. The fact that you will always require an internet connection to play, even when playing solo, will be met with heavy criticisms. You can play through the campaign with bots to fill in, which is counterintuitive due to the fact that you have to always be online.

Should there be any sort of server issues, the game would most likely be rendered unplayable. We have all seen how that turned out for other recent games like Gran Turismo 7. Hopefully, with the game’s launch, that can be addressed.

Evil Dead: The Game launches on May 13, 2022, on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and PC via Epic Games Store.
