Halo 5: Guardians File Size Bigger Than Initially Thought

A few weeks ago the Xbox Marketplace showed the file size for Halo 5: Guardians to be around 45GB. However, the retail copy for the game shows a file size that is bigger.

A leaked retail copy of Halo 5: Guardians is now out in the wild and it shows that the game will have a pretty huge file size. Xbox One gamers will need over 60GB of space to install the game onto their hard drives.

The images were found by a user on NeoGAF. The retail copy looks legit since the game has gone gold. This is probably an early copy that is getting ready to be distributed into retail stores worldwide by the end of the month.

60GB is the file size for Halo: The Master Chief Collection when it came out last year. It’s interesting the fifth game will also take up the same amount of space. Last year’s game was a collection of four remastered games, while Guardians is just one game only.

60GB sounds huge, but the size will only get bigger taking into account update patches and any other DLC that will be released in the near future. If you plan on buying the game, make sure you have enough space to install it.
