Hideo Kojima Making A New Game Console Exclusive To The PS4

Hideo Kojima has now left Konami and is already making a new game. This new game is going to be a PS4 exclusive.

PlayStation made the announcement on its official YouTube channel. Andrew House spoke in Japanese that Sony has partnered up with Hideo Kojima for his team to make a PS4 exclusive.

Kojima was also in the video announcing that he has established his own independent studio. The name is still called Kojima Productions and he mentioned he’s working on a new franchise.

There were no idea details on the partnership yet, but this could be seen as a major acquisition from Sony. Hideo Kojima released the highly successful Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain earlier this year.

Kojima has been working on the Metal Gear franchise for years, so it will be interesting to see what this new IP will be about. Konami still hold the Metal Gear license, so we won’t see any characters from that franchise.

It would be interesting if he’s making a horror game since Silent Hills got cancelled. I would love for him to make another action game, although we’ll just have to wait and see.

Update: A press release was released that mentioned “console exclusive”. This means the game could come out on PC but Nintendo and Microsoft consoles are ruled out.
