Warner’s Injustice 2 enters at the top of the weekly best-sellers list in the United Kingdom, a feat that consolidates the commercial appeal of the brand, whose original entry also topped the charts when it was released in 2013. Sony’s Farpoint entry at number 2 feels like a victory regardless, since the shooter becomes the highest-peaking PlayStation VR exclusive in the short history of the platform.

Injustice 2 is the first fighting game to top the UK charts since Mortal Kombat X in 2015, which was also produced by NetherRealm Studios. The game not only manages a good result in the charts, but also in sales, surpassing the original entry by approximately a third of the number of copies sold. Featuring a more extensive selection of game modes and customization options, it seems like the game has earned this commercial success.

The other highest new entry of the week is Farpoint, a new PlayStation VR exclusive by Sony, which is using this title to introduce its new Aim Controller for VR shooters. Despite don’t being able to top the All Formats list, a number 2 placement feels like a victory all the same, since the game has become the highest entry ever for a PSVR exclusive, with PlayStation VR Worlds holding the previous record by entering at number 7 in 2016.

With Farpoint, Sony is making a renewed advertising push for its VR platform, which is by far the best-selling advanced VR headset in the market. Farpoint is the second “must-have” release of the platform this year, after the launch of Resident Evil 7 in January, whose VR mode was only playable on PSVR.

Nintendo’s Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia enters the charts at number 5, which is a good result for a series that has been growing in popularity in the recent years thanks to a renewed focus in the Western market. This latest release is actually the remake of Fire Emblem Gaiden, and we gave it a glowing review.

Rounding up the top 10 is The Surge, a sci-fi action-RPG game released on PS4, Xbox One and PC, which offers a unique spin on the Dark Souls gameplay, and received a positive review from us.
