Apparently Microsoft has come out and confirmed that they will not be showing any new hardware at E3 2012.  Ryan James, PR Manager for the company said in a statement to Game Informer Magazine “While we appreciate all the interest in our long-range plans for the future, we can confirm that there will be no talk of new Xbox hardware at E3 or anytime soon.”

“For us, 2012 is all about Xbox 360 and it’s the best year ever for Xbox 360.  The console is coming off its biggest year ever, a year in which Xbox outsold all other consoles worldwide.”

This comes contrary to rumors that Microsoft may be secretly planning a surprise unveil at the show.  Those rumors can be put to rest, unless Microsoft is planning the old double switcheroo to catch everyone with their pants down.

While this might be bad news for Xbox fans, Nintendo’s Wii U will be sure to steal the spotlight for the second straight year.  The console, whose feature set has yet to be revealed, is going to surprise a lot of people.
