Microsoft looking at Digital Gifting Features for Xbox One

It definitely won’t be there at launch, but Microsoft is looking at a gifting system on the Xbox One that is similar to Steam, according to Major Nelson. Over on the Xbox One Reddit Thread, Hyrb was asked by fans whether or not Microsoft had considered doing something like this for the Xbox One.

Hyrb replied to question: “Great feature we’d like to add in someday, but it won’t be there at launch.”

There’s no telling if this will ever make it to the Xbox One, but the system is very popular on Steam. Microsoft has gone on record as saying that their original plans with the Xbox One were similar to Valve’s popular digital delivery service in the past — perhaps digital gifts are in the works for the Xbox One at a later date. Right now, we’re just hoping the box lands in consumers hands as a working thing.

The Xbox One arrives on November 22nd.
