Nintendo 3DS firmware gets new update

by | @AttackFanboy | on May 14, 2012

Nintendo 3DS owners have a new firmware update available on the handheld. Upgrade 4.1.0-8 is now live in the system settings of the device. Nintendo has not announced what is included in the system update, but patches the company will be pushing through the first patches for titles tommorrow.

Perhaps the update is to prep the system to allow the title updates. Mario Kart 7 will be the first title that is due a patch, after gamers found game ruining exploits in the Wuhu Mountain Loop track. This should definitely level the playing field for Mario Kart 7 fans.

We’ll have to wait and see what else lies in store with the system update. If you find anything new on your 3DS, let us know in the comments section below.
