Gamers around the world are anxiously awaiting the final release of the Oculus Rift, along with the Vive and other VR headsets. The technology has been long in the making, and yet we’re still not exactly sure when we’ll all be able to get our hands on them. However, there is still good news coming out about the Oculus Rift, with today featuring the addition of another pack-in game to get owners started with their VR gaming.

Lucky’s Tale, a VR-exclusive game from developer Playful, will be included for free with every Oculus Rift VR headset. “Lucky’s Tale, an Oculus Studios title, takes you on an adventure of a lifetime with Lucky, the fun-loving fox. The game takes you to a charming new world, with dozens of locales and lush environments.”

About the game, Oculus found Palmer Luckey said “We always believed there was an opportunity for platformers in VR, but it wasn’t until playing Lucky’s Tale and working with the Playful team that we truly realized its potential to change how people view this genre of gaming forever. Lucky’s Tale delivers on everything you want in a next-generation VR game – it’s thrilling, full of adventure, and incredibly fun to play.”

Lucky’s Tale joins EVE: Valkyrie, which was recently announced as a pack-in game for some Oculus Rift headsets. EVE will be included with any Oculus Rift that was pre-ordered before release, so if you want both games, be sure to get your order in early, as they could easily sell out thanks to the high anticipation for the device.

Of course, we still don’t know when those pre-orders will open, though company found Palmer Luckey did say they would come shortly after the new year. We also don’t know the price, but we can be sure it will be in the $350-$500 range at least. Hopefully this latest announcement means Oculus is ready to start sharing more info about the actual release date, price, and other specifics very soon.
