PlayStation Now Gets PUBG and Wolfenstein: The Old Blood

Recommended Videos

The PlayStation Now lineup has continued to grow larger and larger over the past few months, and this month, subscribers get access to a handful of new games headlined by PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Just like the other heavy-hitting titles that have been added recently, these new games are only available on the service for three months.

Coming to the service alongside PUBG is Wolfenstein: The Old Blood and Formula 1 2019. The Old Blood is a standalone expansion to Wolfenstein: The New Order and is the earliest game in MachineGames’ Wolfenstein timeline. The New Order is also on PlayStation Now, so you can jump right into it once you wrap up The Old Blood. Sadly, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is not included with PlayStation Now. It’s currently a part of Xbox Game Pass, so at least there’s a chance it’ll hit PlayStation Now sometime in the future. Formula 1 2019 joins the myriad of other F1 games on PlayStation Now, but considering F1 2018 is missing from the service, F1 2019 should be a significant step up from the latest game in the franchise that’s currently available, F1 2017.

Since all of these new games are PlayStation 4 games, they’re eligible to be downloaded instead of streamed. Downloading a game from PlayStation Now is practically the exact same thing as getting a game from Xbox Game Pass, and the experience should be identical to playing a downloaded copy of a game you own. Still, if you’d rather not waste the hard drive space, these games are still able to be streamed if you so choose. Whether you download or stream them, this month’s new games will only be available through March 2, 2020.

If you’re still on the fence about PlayStation Now, here are the most popular titles on the service for the month of November to give you an idea of what games the service provides:

  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • God of War
  • Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
  • Middle-Earth: Shadow of War
  • Rocket League
  • Farming Simulator 19
  • Persona 5
  • Fallout 4
  • Mortal Kombat X
  • WWE 2K18
  • NBA 2K18
  • Infamous Second Son

Having just recently gotten a price cut to $60 per year or $10 per month, PlayStation Now offers a great value proposition if you’ve missed out on some of the platform’s greatest hits. Some of the games on the list above, like God of War and Grand Theft Auto V, are only available for a limited time. PUBG, Wolfenstein, and F1 2019 won’t be there forever either, so act quickly if you want to play them using PlayStation Now.
