Update: PSN should be back online now. It was down for at least 6 hours or so. It may take some time for people to log in still.
It looks like the PSN is having a little trouble for many this weekend. The status of the network is down for many platforms.
The official PSN status page shows that a lot of “services are experiencing issues” at the moment. This includes the PS3, PS4 and other PlayStation devices.
It looks like pretty much every PSN services is having issues. The PSN status page notes Gaming and Social, PlayStation Now, PlayStation Vue, PlayStation Video, and the PlayStation Store are all having issues right now.
The Ask PlayStation Twitter page announced:
“We are aware that users are having issues accessing PSN at the moment. Thanks for your patience as we investigate.”
Forbes has reported that PSN is down because of the Lizard Squad again. It’s hard to tell if it’s the original members or not. I feel it’s either a copy cat group or someone pretending to be the cause of the outage.
As of right now, the PSN outage has been going on for at least an hour. It’s unknown at this stage how widespread it is. Judging by the amount of tweets about the “PSN” today, a lot of people seem to be affected right now. Hopefully things resume back to normal soon.
