The Rockstar Games empire has indeed been extended again, a new partnership with Techicolor will have the India-based animation studio working on future Grand Theft Auto projects. Working out of Bangalore, India, Technicolor has contributed to other Rockstar titles in the past. These games include Max Payne 3, L.A. Noire, and Red Dead Redemption.
Sweeping Technicolor under the Rockstar umbrella gives GTA V even more hands on deck. But whether or not the new studio would have its hand in the next Grand Theft Auto title was not officially confirmed. Though officially, Rockstar has only two announced titles in the works: GTA V and Agent, so its likely that they will indeed be working on Grand Theft Auto 5.
The company has been largely quiet about Grand Theft Auto V, and hasn’t spoken a word about Agent in many months. The last we heard from the company on the status of GTA V, was that development was fully under way, and they had the screenshots to prove it. Other titles that this new studio could be contributing to include a sequel to Red Dead Redemption, Bully, or any top-secret projects that the developer may be cooking up.
Release date projections for Grand Theft Auto V currently mark 2013 as the return for the open-world franchise.
