Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is a fan favorite of the highly popular sandbox franchise. It looks like that a re-release might be in the cards for the title after all these years.

A list of achievements have surfaced on Xbox Achievements for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas that could point to a re-release of the game. This is by no means a confirmation but it is very interesting to say the least. The title is said to have 33 achievements totaling a full retail release of 1000 gamerscore. Alleged achievement goals range from completing the story, to completing various activities and watching the end credits in their entirety.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas put players into the role of Carl ‘CJ’ Johnson who returns home to find his former gang struggling and crooked cops breathing down his neck. Throughout the course of the game players were able to have the freedom to do many various activities and even customize the character in various ways such as build, hairstyle, tattoos and even clothing for the first time in the franchise. It was a landmark title not only for the franchise but for sandbox games to come.

Even though this should be taken with a grain of salt, it should be mentioned that this comes at a time when both the Xbox and PS2 Classic versions have been pulled from the Xbox Live Marketplace and PSN respectively. So now we wait for a debunk or an announcement. Here’s hoping for Grand Theft Auto V graphics set in the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas game. One can wish.
