Earlier today Target.com began selling the limited edition Majora’s Mask version of the New Nintendo 3DS. While this wasn’t totally surprising, as today was the official launch day of the console, the fact that people could place orders for more than just a couple of minutes made it pretty important. Until now any time stock was available it would disappear before most gamers could even get informed and go to the site. Unfortunately the Target sale truly was too good to be true and customers are beginning to get cancellation notices for their orders.
Unfortunately, due to incredibly high demand, we are unable to fulfill the item below from your order.
Many customers, myself included, received an email revealing that their order of the Majora’s Mask New 3DS XL had been cancelled “due to incredibly high demand.” To try to make it up to the affected customers Target promised to provide them with a $15 gift card for use on their website. The details of the offer and how to take advantage will come in a later email.
From the very beginning the Majora’s Mask New 3DS XL has been tough to find for fans. Low stock from Nintendo seems to be the main culprit, but retailers taking more orders than they can fulfill only adds to the disappointment. As scalpers take advantage of the high demand prices are skyrocketing on eBay and Amazon. With this being a limited edition release, there is little chance of further restocks in the future. If you don’t have one of the highly sought after handhelds by now you probably will not be getting one for retail price any times soon unfortunately.
